Whitmore Lake

This beautiful all-sports lake is located in Washtenaw & Livingston Counties. Whitmore Lake is centrally positioned near Hamburg, Green Oak, Northfield, and Webster Townships. The community can be found about 9 Miles north of Ann Arbor and about 9 miles south of Brighton. Conveniently located off of US 23, and is accessible from 9 Mile Rd. (Exit 54), 8 Mile Rd. (Exit 53), or Barker Rd. (Exit 52).

Whitmore Lake consists of 677 acres and is approximately 69 feet deep at its deepest point. There is a state-owned public access on the northwest shore (fee to launch charged by State Parks and Recreation Division) consisting of a hard surfaced ramp with parking for 42 vehicles.

If you’re an angler you will enjoy Whitmore Lake which has a solid fishery with a variety of fish, including largemouth bass, northern pike, and plenty of pan fish. You can test your skills on this lake using a wide range of baits and techniques. The superior fishing opportunities makes for an enjoyable and challenging day on the water.

It is also a great lake for boating and water skiing/sports enthusiasts, as well as year round activities. In the winter time, you will find many ice fishing shanties, and they hold a very large and popular pond hockey game weekend each year.
